Jade Thirwall made a special request for a North East delicacy ahead of three upcoming Little Mix gigs in Newcastle. The South Shields native took to Instagram to gush about her excitement to be back in Newcastle.

And Jade is preparing for the shows in true North East fashion – by ordering a ham and pease pudding sandwich. The 29-year-old posted a photo of the sandwich on her Instagram stories and said it’s the first time in years that she’s had the local delicacy.

Jade posted on Instagram: “Shoutout to our catering for making me ham and pease pudding sandwiches since we’re up north. Not had these since me Nanna made me them years ago.”

Little Mix kicked off their Confetti tour at the weekend in Belfast but now the former X-Factor winners will be coming to the Toon. South Shields singers Perrie and Jade will enjoy a return to home turf as Newcastle becomes the next stop.

There will be three Little Mix shows at the Utilita Arena over Easter weekend: one on Friday night, a Saturday matinee, and a Saturday evening show. And ahead of Friday’s show Jade had a message to fans in Newcastle saying “nothing makes her prouder” than performing at home.

She posted on Instagram: “We’re in the toon today. Newcastle I hope you’re ready to give it everything the next 3 shows cos I tell everyone who’ll listen you’re one of the best crowds in the world – my family and friends are in and nothing makes me prouder than performing at home! Howay the mixers!”

Jade’s post comes after she admitted to being “overwhelmed,” at being back out on tour. Posting a photo of herself on stage, she wrote: “Feel so overwhelmed being back onstage doing my most favourite thing in the world again with my sisters. No better feeling.”

Jade Thirlwall helped out an “ill and anxious” fan who was struggling in the crowd of a Little Mix concert in Dublin on Tuesday night, after the band kicked off their final tour, Confetti.

The singer, 29, was performing alongside her bandmates Perrie Edwards, 28, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30, at the 3Arena when she stopped after seeing a girl in the crowd struggling.

Videos posted by fan accounts on Twitter showed the trio singing Only You, before Jade stopped to tell the crowd to not jump so medics could reach the fan.

She told the crowd: “I just want everybody in this area to be still and let this girl get sorted out so she’s well.

Jade told the rest of the audience they could dance along, commenting: “Everybody else you can jump.” She was later seen waving at the area where the fan had been.

It’s unclear what was wrong, though others attendees are said to have reported that she looked “ill and anxious” as the crowd jumped to the beat of the song, according to Dublin Live.

One fan – who shared footage of the moment on their account @perriefthes – wrote: “Jade asking some people to stay still during Only You because a girl was in trouble in the crowd.”

The Confetti Tour began at the SSE Arena in Belfast last week, with the band set to perform in Dublin again tonight before heading to parts of England, Wales and Scotland.

They’ll perform in Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield over the next week, before visiting Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Nottingham and London.

The tour – which comes following the release of their sixth studio album Confetti two years ago – had been originally scheduled for 2021 but postponed due to Covid.

POPSTARS Little Mix rocked into Belfast on Saturday night to kick off the first leg of their final tour and their biggest show since the start of the pandemic.

Singer Perrie Edwards (28) posted a self-taken video on her Twitter pre-show yesterday evening as she donned a face mask in preparation for the gig at Belfast’s SSE Arena.

She posted the video with the caption “Getting ready for the first date of the Confetti Tour in Belfast! Who’s ready for tonight?!”

Fans began queuing at the SSE Arena from around 5pm as the girls did their sound check before they went on stage shortly after 8pm for the big show.

The band also perform at the stadium on Sunday.

Fellow band member Jade Thirlwall (29) also posted about her skincare routine on Instagram after she experienced a facial emergency.

Posting a series of selfies to her Instagram Story she said: “Had the biggest breakout thanks to a lack of sleep, not enough water, new-ish skincare routine and being a busy b****.

“Don’t worry though huns I feel stunning and how can I be low when I’m about to do more than anything else in the world… TOURINGGGG.

“I used to let bad skin get me down and knock my confidence big time but so REFUSE.

“Just thought I’d share that you can be spotty and still be, and feel, beautiful okay!”

Singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock (30), who completes the trio, also posted about the start of the tour on her social media before last night’s gig.

She took the opportunity to promote The Black Fund, an equality charity she is a co-founder of.

Posting on her Instagram account she said: “It’s here! I can’t believe the Confetti Tour has started, it’s been so long since we got to put on a show for you all.

“This tour I wanted to do something to tie The Black Fund in and shine a light on some of the amazing things happening in black communities across the UK right now.

“So each city we stop in I’m going to share a project, organisation, some history or a person from the area that I think people should know about.

“First up is Belfast and ACSONI (African & Caribbean Support Northern Ireland) who have been doing amazing work since 2003 for the African and Caribbean diaspora in Northern Ireland. Have a read through to see the really important work they’ve partnered with the Ulster Museum on.”

JADE Thirlwall is set to undergoing an image revamp ahead of launching her solo music career.

The X Factor hopeful turned household name will follow in the footsteps of Cheryl and ditch her surname when she makes her solo debut later this year.

A music insider teased: “Jade is going all out to make sure her solo career takes off.

“After talks with bosses she’s decided a mini-revamp is the way to go and will be dropping her surname to simply be known as ‘Jade’ moving forward.

“It worked for Cheryl so they see no reason why it wouldn’t work for Jade.

“There are no plans set in stone yet but a summer launch for her career is looking more than likely.

“It goes without saying she’s incredibly loyal to the girls but they are all looking to the future and life after the group and working on their own projects now.”

After Girls Aloud went their separate ways in 2009, Chezza returned just months later with chart-topping single Fight For This Love before ditching her surname altogether by 2012.

Next week Jade will join band mates Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock as they kick off their final tour in Belfast.

The trek will see the girls play arena shows up and down the UK before taking their final bow at at London’s O2 Arena on May 14.
