DJ and queer icon Jodie Harsh has revealed that she’s recently hit the studio with none other than Jade Thirlwall.

In case you couldn’t guess by the moniker, Jodie’s music is abrasive, loud and fun; pulling in all kinds of different directions, and inspired by the likes of house music, hiNRG and disco.

Chatting to OfficialCharts.com about her new single Shock, Jodie revealed that former Little Mix member and future pop superstar Jade has been one of the artists she’s recently collaborated with in the studio.

“I did some songwriting sessions recently with Jade,” Jodie told us. “We’ve just done [some work together] but it’s all kind of half-finished stuff at the moment. I need to get in and really kind of finish the production.

“It’s just some ideas [at the moment.] We’ve just been playing about.”

And for those of you wondering whether we’ll see these songs arrive as part of Jade’s much-anticipated solo material, Jodie says that she’s so far unsure what the songs will be used for.

“I don’t know whether it would be for her [solo] stuff,” she continued, “or for me, or for other artists to sing, or for other artists to sing for me. We were just jamming.”

LGBTQ+ rights protesters, including Labour MP Kate Osborne and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, flocked to Downing Street for a protest in place of the government’s cancelled LGBTQ+ conference.

Activists flocked to London for a protest in place of the Tory government’s flagship Safe To Be Me: A Global Equalities Conference, which was billed as the “first-ever global LGBT conference”.

The event was left in tatters amid backlash against the government’s U-turn on a trans-inclusive conversion therapy ban, and it was ultimately cancelled in April

LGBTQ+ advocates, allies and activist groups descended on the capital on Wednesday afternoon (29 June), the day the conference was set to start, for their own Not Safe To Be Me protest.

The demonstrators proudly waved trans Pride flags, wore a mash of kaleidoscopic colours and held up searing signs laying bare how the Tories failed the LGBTQ+ community.

Among those present was Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, who has been a staunch ally to the LGBTQ+ community. She was pictured alongside Labour MP Kate Osborne; the pair held up a bright pink sign reading: “I support a trans-inclusive ban”.

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall’s bar in South Shields has become the latest venue to rollout vulnerability training delivered by the region’s dedicated Violence Reduction Unit.

Staff at the pop star’s venue, Arbeia, on Ocean Road, and other Pubwatch staff in the area were joined by Kim McGuinness and trainers from her Violence Reduction Unit and Northumbria Police, which delivers comprehensive sessions aimed at improving safety on a night out.

Bar tenders, door staff and club managers all came together at the popular venue to take part in the training which educates night-time economy staff on vulnerability, identifying risks and their duty of care.

Last year a survey by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria found that 43% of sexual harassment and 44% of unwanted sexual touching happened in city centres including bars and clubs.

Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner, Kim McGuinness, said: “I just love that cities and towns across our region are known for offering the best night out but it’s incredibly important to me that we are the safest too. Everyone has the right to feel safe whatever they are doing; whether they are on the dance floor or getting a taxi home.

Nayeon of TWICE is gearing up to release her first-ever solo mini album — and it’s stacked with a list of can’t-miss collaborations, including a track with a Little Mix member.

On Tuesday (May 31), the K-pop singer unveiled the track list for her forthcoming mini album titled IM NAYEON, which will contain a total of six tracks: lead single “Pop!,” “No Problem” with Felix of Stray Kids, “Love Countdown” with South Korean rapper and singer Wonstein,”All or Nothing,” “Happy Birthday,” “노을만 예쁘다 (Only the Sunset is Pretty)” and “Candyfloss,” partially composed by Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix.

This isn’t the first time that Nayeon has worked with Thirlwall, though. While promoting Taste of Love, TWICE’s 10th EP, the girls revealed on the Zach Sang Show in 2021 that they were “very honored” that Thirwall contributed to the songwriting process for “First Time.” Member Dahyun also revealed that Little Mix was a large part of their early days.

“Actually when we were trainees, we covered a lot of songs by Little Mix,” Dahyun said at the time. “I actually listened to a lot of songs by Little Mix growing up.”
